「デザインフェスタvol.60」で気になったモノ《マイマイ》〈連載　その6〉

去る2024年11月16日（土）・11月17日（日）、東京ビッグサイト西＆南ホール全館で「デザインフェスタvol.60」が開催された。
On Saturday, November 16th and Sunday, November 17th, 2024, “Design Festa vol.60” was held throughout the West and South Halls of Tokyo Big Sight.

スケジュールの都合で行けたのは11月16日（土）の午後帯だけだったけれど、事前に取材許可をもらっていたので、カメラ片手にサクッと取材を決行。
Due to my schedule, I was only able to go in the afternoon on Saturday, November 16th, but since I had received permission to interview in advance, I was able to quickly conduct the interview with my camera in hand.

人出の多さと時間の都合で西ホールしか回れなかったけれど、編集部的に特に気になったプロダクトを数回に分けて紹介します。
Due to the large number of people and time constraints, we were only able to visit the West Hall, but we would like to introduce products that were of particular interest to us in several parts.

maimai
マイマイ

「日常に溶け込む水引（みずびき）を」をコンセプトに、日本の伝統的な素材を用いながら、普段着のラフな服装からハレの日の装いまで使える水引アクセサリーの創作活動をおこなっている《マイマイ》。
Based on the concept of “Mizuhiki that blends into everyday life,” 《Mai Mai》 uses traditional Japanese materials to create Mizuhiki accessories that can be used for everything from casual everyday wear to special occasion outfits.

デザフェス会場では、水引を用いたピアスやブローチなどのアクセサリー、ポチ袋、しめ飾り、お正月のパネルなどが展示されていた。
At the Dezafes venue, Mizuhiki accessories such as earrings and brooches, gift envelope, shimekazari, and New Year’s panels were on display.

どの作品もモダンでスタイリッシュなんだけど、どこかほっこりする要素もあって、そのバランス感が絶妙だな、と感じました。
All of the works are modern and stylish, but they also have some warm elements, and I felt that the balance between them was exquisite.

自分で使うのはもちろんのこと、ギフトにもピッタリの作品がたくさんあって楽しい気分に。
It was fun to see so many items that were perfect for gifting as well as for personal use.

日本の古き良き文化が、こうして紡がれていくのはとても美しくて素晴らしいと思った。
I think it’s very beautiful and wonderful that Japan’s good old culture is being inherited in this way.
